Mike 21 Model Based Numerical Simulation of the Operation Optimization Scheme of Sedimentation Basin

The sedimentation basin is an important part of hydraulic engineering. Because the prototype size too large and not easy to analyze, Mike 21 has advantages input, conversion, analysis, demonstration data results, which are flexible convenient; however, this method been used in engineering by previous researchers. This research Yellow River Diversion Project as object, a simulation model channel #1 was developed using software analyze its water sediment characteristics conditions different periods. Using numerical methods, three types operation schemes were targeted, changes law evaluated each scheme, effects compared. results show that incoming diversion timings during flood non-flood seasons, adopts scheme lower outlet level, siltation volumes 180,000 150,000 m3 than high-outlet levels, respectively. Moreover, status significantly improved, can effectively extend service life basin, prolong period silting removal about 3.5 months, provide scientific basis reference for optimization mode other
